At our school, our fifth graders announce the weather on the news using someones iphone.  This is a great lesson for them to investigate and track weather for themselves.  I like the fact that they will continue to do this throughout the year.  Great plan!  Do you have any specific web sites for them to investigate? I have located several weather websites for students to use, which I will include in each lesson depending on what is being covered. With this capability, students can display a weather map and symbols as they give the weather report. This clip will be included each morning along with the other news announcements such as lunch choices, school fundraiser information, and school news.
